Given the current forecasts for tomorrow, the final heat of the 2011/12 WAKSA Airush Course Racing Series has been postponed.

The final heat will be held (wind permitting) on Sunday 15th April 2012 at a beach to be advised closer to the date. Whilst there is a long weekend next weekend, potential family commitments &/or long w/end travel arrangements for participants = further postponement unfortunately.

Wind permitting, further (mid-week) practice sessions may be held between now & 15th April. Watch this space for more info.

Seriously though this has been an unbelievably bad run of no wind in many parts of Australia

No worries mate don't mention it.

So the wind has stumped us again! tomorrows forecast is maxing out at 10 knots and since we have a 15 knot lower wind limit its not going to happen tomorrow.

We will try again next Sunday and keep rolling it back until we get a Sunday with wind.

So stay tuned

What is it with wind in Perth on a Sunday? All we need is 15 knots is that sooo much to ask Huey

8x race kiters at Leighton this arvo & fully lit on 13m & 15m & 17m kites this Arvo perfect conditions in 10 to 14 knots - late summer, early winter classic conditions from 2pm to 6pm.

On GPS was averaging 22/23 knots on down wind runs. Fast and super glassy. The French crew were out & inforce 5km offshore and blasting On a few new Ben W Icon race F2 prototypes and killing it. Tried the proto 17m and it was easy to ride and super fast on a race board in 12 knots and a 4 km triangle coarse.

Great to see 8 kites smashing the coast in sub 15 knot conditions - a great Classic race / free ride Arvo - one of 100 top sub 15 knot race sessions I have kited this season. 10/10.

P.s The Marine department has taken our downwind mark/ yellow bouy at Leighton kite race course so that's it for the ocean race coarse until the 2013 season.

I reckon the 2012 WAKSA race series has had its day - Looking forward to 2012 race Nationals in Townsville in June.

i bet we will see some talent at the racing nationals from WA.

Yet another great arvo with the kite racing .

Thanks to all for coming down and pushing kite racing another step forward. I know i learned a bucket load on Sunday and have figured out some more technique stuff that will hopefully help out down the track.

I think that the "training" format was really good and i for one found it very useful as you can get feedback/make small changes much quicker than if it was a competitive race.

So thanks again to all that came down it was a really good days kiteing
