Starting to experience the occasional video that is rejected from VIMEO due to copyright infringement from the muisic that is attached. A search on the net explains what VIMEO is doing but dosent set out clearly what actually can be uploaded without breaching these laws.

If I've paid for a sound track thru iTunes am I able to use that?

Not sure but sometimes they dont let you use it unless you put credits with the band and song name. Other times you cant use it no matter what.

Welcome to my world! ;)

I use YouTube and have the same issues. Basically, if you don't own the copyright, you can't use the song :(
Some artists/labels will allow the song to be used no conditions, others will place ads on your vids, or block it completely. Some even allow it on computer but not mobile app...

I have a second YouTube account that I use purely to upload songs to find out of they will be blocked. Then I know which ones to use before I go to the effort of editing.

A good source for music that won't be detected by youtube is jjj unearthed....

Start putting songs in your vids that people haven't heard a million times already and you will never have an issue .

I used a 1970s Tom Waits' song and it got blocked on YouTube, in some countries, for a random amount of time. All depends on the publisher...

Short answer - probably not, but it's unlikely they'll do anything more than block the audio.
