If you are going to epoxy over the wood, you can use standard plywood and not marine grade.

Howzit, made a few boards over the years. You don't need to buy marine grade, the aussie made B B exterior (you can buy this in Spearwood) is more than sufficient, they use the same glue to make this as they use for the marine grade, only diff is marine grade has an A A finish, both sides have no imperfections. The imported BS (that's british standard boys ) marine grade ply is much darker in colour and has way more flex.

The 3 mm thick stuff from Bunnings costs around 15 to 20 bucks a sheet and if I was looking at making an ultra light wind TT, it's what I would use. I would make it hollow with polystyrene infill with at least one stringer. I made a board using this method, (got the low down from a guy called Alex I met at Pinna's a couple of years back)structurally and build quality wise, it turned out well, but the shape was'nt right for chop so I binned it. Might have a bash again this winter.

For an Ultra light wind TT , maybe try and find a s/h SS Glide or the other one Cabrinha made, can't remember the name . That way , you can spend winter riding your pushie, save you a lot of heartache , J

I have a very good light wind kite to power it, so no worries there. As for the board - well it wont be a normal TT.... and if my imagination can simulate into a kiteboard what Ive already seen (outside the box idea) - it should go like a rocket in very light wind unless the beers get drunk before construction

While it is true that many plywoods are made with waterproof glue, marine ply is made with defect free plys throughout (other grades can have defects in the internal layers). Given the time it can take to make a board, consider spending the extra $ to get marine ply so you don't have any surprises it you load it hard during a heavy landings. Particularly if you are going to 'taper' the edges.

Ive made a few boards of my own, ply twinnies, solid balsa, hollow paulownia, traditional alai a etc . Ply is the quickest, cheapest and easiest construction.
Laminate two sheets together with epoxy , wedge up either end for rocker and weigh down with sand while the glue sets then cut the outline and sand the rails. with marine ply you could get away without glass and just paint with epoxy to seal.
High point timber in rocking ham sell paulownia in all shapes and sizes.
I also have 3/4 of a sheet of 6 mm marine ply left over from a boat building project that you can have if you want to collect it
