Hi all,

I am in the process of planning a trip. I plan to leave Aus in October and do a snow season in whistler, then I would like to head down to america and spend some time in hood river kiteboarding.

The flight I am looking at booking has 2 peices of luggage at 32kg which is heaps for a suitcase full of all of my clothes and the other to be a bag with my Snowboard 155, Cabrinah custom 136x41, wake boots, a 12m, 9m, pump bar, and maybe my snow clothes, boots and wetsuit.

My issue is im having a hard time finding the right bad. There are lots of options around the 140 - 150cm size but I need a bag that is at least 155cm ideally 160. I have found mystic make a bag called the elevate that could fit my needs but its $300
Dakine make a bag called the club wagon and that is 155x40 for $200 from kitepower.

Does anyone else have any other recommendations? I would also be interested in buying one 2nd hand if you have a bag that fits my needs.

Cheers,
Perry.

Try this....

Average seems to be around the $200 mark, don't think ur gonna get much cheaper.

You would be surprised how quickly the weight adds up, recently went on a trip and had 1 x kite, 1 x tt, all other gear (excluding wettie) and minimal clothing...was 26kg. I think kite bag alone is around 6kg. Was a Dakine bag by the way, just fits 138 tt.

Just use a moto gear bag, I've got a Ogio one that has rollers on one side and a handle on the other. I have three kites in it, bars, harness, wetty, towel and more. Works great for trips and cost from 150 to 300 from most bike stores.

hey mate i borrowed the naish golf bag off a friend for some kiting in dublin
packed a 17m zephyr, 10m park, 2 bars, 142 board, foot strapes, harness, pump and 2/3 wetty and it came to around 25kilos.
not sure if the bag comes in different sizes, might be worth hiring the snowboard if possible? if you do find a bag you should be fine with the snowboard as well just make sure you get a nice big carry on.

Bargain, packed mine today, holds big 150 TT, 11m, 15m, bars, pump, harness, towel, assorted bits n pieces, total weight 19kg, still room for more, could squeeze a third kite, wetty and clothes if needed.

it's not a bargain when that is clearly a board bag and board bag only . You will not fit anything other than a board in there . It's not a travel bag
