Travel Kite Repair Kit

Hey guys,
I'm going on a kite trip next month (PNG ) and I'm wondering what kind of stuff I should bring in case of mishap. There won't be a kiteshop around for I'm guessing 1000kms or more so I'll want to have a pretty well stocked repair kit. I'm bringing 3 kites, all pretty new, and in perfect condition so that should help. I'll be with a bunch of other guys but i'd lke to be self sufficient.

Can anyone reccomend a good packaged kit or just a rundown of most of what you would bring for a trip? If you're a shop and have something, pimp away, I'd love to hear what's available. I've searched around a bit but I'm just after some advice.

So, what would you bring?

Bladder repair is pretty simple, some glue and bladder material.

The hard part is dealing with a big tear of the leading edge. The fabric with glue given with kites will not work on anything more than a few cm.

Bring some tape and a needle and thread. I've sewn a leading edge and it really is not hard. You tape from the inside and then sew together with the needle and thread.

kite fix repair kit is what you need. i got mine in europe(€58), a bit pricee...but i repair everything myself now. also get some kitetape(about 5metres)and some ustick valves. and a needle and thread.

second all of that (I think Kitepower sell Kitefix) !
ye local boat / yacht shop should have a sail repair kit that'll come in handy if you need to sew anything (waxed thread that doesn't rot and heavy duty needles), and the spinnaker tape.

Kitefix repair kits are a good and available as a complete or mini kit. I always carry about a foot of Tear Aid as well as it works on both canopy and bladder.
Other items I carry are a Microhook line braiding tool for emergency line repairs and maybe a stick on valve or 2.

+1 all the kites and kite repair gear is no good to you without a pump!

kitefix kit $85 on kitepower.com.au
Really good kit, saved my ass up north around Easter, tore kite pretty much in half, comes with loads of different coulour repair fabric, dacron tape, even a pair of sissors, but you still need a thick needle and stong fishing twine for a LE tear and a roll of duck tape.
