Planning a trip to My Hoa and thought I would seek input from the wise ones on travel insurance. I have reviewed a couple of PDSs and they seem to list everything but Kitesurfing / Kiteboarding or exclude it if they are not with a commercial operator. Any suggestions or experience with cover?

check out

www.worldnomads.com/

and

www.passportcard.com.au/

I haven't used either of these personally, but they Both specifically offer kitesurfing insurance, but obviously costs a lot more!

From my research, it pretty much doubles the quote.

Personally, I don't bother seeking insurance for kite related activities... but maybe I should!

Thanks KB for the suggestions, have had a bit of a pds read. The passport card is interesting as long as no Stunts are involved. When does it become a stunt? The world nomads put kitesurfing as a level 1 risk water sport with swimming. . You never know how good insurance is until you need it though.
Has anyone had to make a claim with these two or any others for injury whilst kiting OS.?

When I went looking I went looking for a policy that would cover me riding a motorbike as well as kiting. I couldn't find one that allowed both. The particular stumbling block was the motorbiking though as some policies cover it if you are legally licensed in that country and others seem to cover you if you are legally licensed in your home country. This is an issue in Vietnam, so it may apply to you, but you don't need to rent a motorbike in My Hoa. You don't need to go anywhere else other than walking up and down the road if you want to.

I have used World Nomads for years for lots of stupid adventures. I went on a deep dive on their coverage and had a bunch of emails back and forth with their insurers for a snowkiting trip and have a lot of confidence in them.

Good ideas. Thanks for your input and insight. Might be good for others if this is kept open for reporting on issues with performance of insurance companies for our sport for travel internationally.
