Spot tracker if you're serious about it but expensive if you're not using it too often. have used these for ocean crossings and backcountry expeds and they work great.
www.findmespot.com/en-us/otherwise, apple watch +PLB. watch will record stats, can share your location and do a phone call if you are within cell range (can text with siri as well), back it up with a personal locator beacon for when you're out of cell coverage. you can put your details (journey, kite type etc) on AMSA's rego site and when that PLB number goes off they will have all the info and exact location and will contact your listed emergency contact.
If you're going offshore you should have the PLB anyway to meet marine safety requirements, couple of hundred bucks well worth it.
