This is a photo I took yesterday while doing some Kitesurfing shots along the Downwinder stretch. It was about 4:30pm looking down towards City Beach ( Perth ), & was shot close to the sand giving a bit of a different look on the kites heading up to South Trigg. Gordon.

Hi jackforbes. Yip, even the UFO's are coming down to watch you guys :-) I zoomed in on the orange dot & its a ball being thrown by a child to a dog.

Ya see what the public (non-kiting community) see? They see a mess! OH MY GOD THEY ARE GOING TO KILL EACH OTHER... OH HOW DO THEY AVOID COLLIDING... etc etc...

Kiting is so misunderstood out there

Some of my local beaches look a bit like those. Thing is, I can ride for 15 minutes up the coast and have several km of empty beaches and reefs and sand bars to play with. It's good that the crowds all stay in one place.

I counted 36 kites over a 6km-8km stretch (City Beach to, at least, Cottesloe). That's hardly crowded, just the lense compression.

Yet you put 1 windsurfer in the pack and they will complain and try to get it banned, because its too dangerous to them.

Hi mate. I really wanted to travel this season & show different Kiting spots on the True Spirit Photos website, but things just did not work out that way. Hopefully season Nov 2016 - April 2017 will allow me to travel & meet up with more Kitesurfers along the WA coast. I might just meet up with you then. Cheers, Gordon.

Some say the old city's to triggs is crowded.. Going toe side up wind up the wave you come into a juxtaposition with down wind fanatic. I just pull out of the wave let the 5 crew go down wind and pull back in on the next set no problem.I still get a 40 wave sesh !A good 60 wave sesh from Cott!... So many options now for a ride back for the next one.Ill give it another 25 years before its anything like tarifa!
