So while showing off my general awesomeness on Monday I managed to break my board - the bottom delaminated taking with in a fin.

So while I'm ordering a new board from Cardboards, I'd like to try a temporary repair to my current board to get me through the weekend.

Advice - what do I try? I was planning on using either liquid nails or araldite to try and hold the laminate back onto the foamy stuff. Is this likely to work? I dont care if it's not pretty. My other option was to wrap the entire thing in duct tape?

Tips please?

Forget liquid nails not going to last 10 mins. Araldite could work but may be difficult to sqeeze enough out to get the bond strong. Looks like a pretty clean result, I'd take this to someone like Dave at Katana surfboards in osborne pk, some epoxy and quick vacum bag job and should be pretty good for quite a while.

Mate borrow a board that is not an easy repair to slap up. You'd use a new boards worth of glue and tape.

Liquid nails worked for me ... I pulled an insert out in FNQ with not a shop in sight ... A quick blast to cooktown for some liquid nails had me back on the water the next day the board
lasted about 2 weeks before I retuned it under warranty.

Different loads on an insert to a bottom laminate, insert is confined and while it does likely see reasonable loads it'll be nothing like a 70 od kg person landing on it from a reasonable height, also for this kind of job there's no coming back from liquid nails (on an insert you can pull it away and then cut a little if necessary when/if it comes undone) but if you got someone like Dave or the other one I've heard is oceanline to epoxy it back up it'll be a pretty good repair and you'll get enough out of it to probably use as a spare.

looking at between $120 to $160

Get some polyurethane glue from Bunnings. It expands like foam.. sticks almost anything is waterproof - about $20.. Selleys make one called durabond -its honey coloured. great for sticking down pads and repairing rubber on bars too. you need to clamp the board up tight to something so the de-lamination is tight back against the board because this is not a gap filling glue and it will expand as it cures. If you can vacuum bag it then this would be the best way. If not you will have to work out some other way to get the de-lamination tightly back together while the glue dries. The foam will bubble out of any gaps. It takes several hours to cure, probably overnight before you can use it.
