Were these any good in their day?

Just curious...

I like the colour combo. Pity that they did not use the agressive looking flying fish logo.

Seems a few companies are bringing out/back a C kite.

That looks just like my 2005 9m (except mine is yellow & grey)

Personally I love my 9m Yarga. I have just replaced it recently but the kite was sooo sweet for boosting/freeriding and very weel behaved in the waves. Anything from 22-30 and it is sooo good. Built tres tuff too.

Dunno what the conversion rate is (might be a tad exxy) but the kite is sweet for sure.

Agree with getfunky It looks just like my 05 11 and 15 m yargas, I always had a blast on my 11m, you did tend to get worked though when you stuffed up. also there was very little depower and a very small sweet spot with these kites, but when you found that sweet spot it felt awesome.

this is from the website;

To be perfectly clear, this is not a new design. There is nothing new about this kite at all. No new technology, no bells and whistles, there's nothing user-friendly about it whatsoever. Hell, we're not even printing sizes on the wingtips (and that’s not open for discussion). This is the exact same kite we give our team riders. no kite patch, no pump, no fancy bag... a no-nonsense C-kite for hard-core wakestyle and competition freestyle ... and if it's good enough for them, maybe, just maybe, it's good enough for you too. Quite simply, it’s the best C-kite we ever made.

So I guess this is the same as the 05-06 yargas, this has inspired me to dig mine out of the garage for a burl!.

Its funny that this kite could probably be picked up 2nd hand for less than $300, there must be heaps of kites like this and other brands, fuels, torches, vegas's ect just sitting idle in peoples garages

Hard to tell but the wing tips look a bit more 05 than 06 (seperate bladders rather than an extension of the LE).

The sweet spot on my 9m was a fair bit more generous than my 13m. I also rode them as 5th line which nulled any jellyfishing and also gave the ability to grab a handful in gusts beyond the top end. Absolutely p!ss easy relaunch too.

Such a sweet (and easy) jumping machine. I was tres lucky to pick up the pair - super cheap - in my 2nd season. Awesome kites for cracking into the intermediate (and beyond) stage.

Its back. Its what we at Best have been after for ages, the true Yarga, back but only in limited numbers. Pricing is on our site and we will be recieving stock as soon as they are ready.

Its important to let me know if you are interested so I can book one for you. They look insane in those colours also. The response to this kite is huge so far.

I have an 07 9m yarga & use it four line on most powered up setting. For a medium aspect ratio kite - it sure is fast & jumps as huge if you commit yourself.
Depower kills completely and falls back nicely too (unlike earlier models).
OSH handles make reverse launching fun too.

Good on them for keeping something that works & not trading off half the performance for relaunch !

Just to make a note on this kite. The design shape and flying principles are the same in every way, but the construction is updated to the latest 2009 technology. 2009 we had 2 warranty claims in Australia on construction, so the method of construction has worked and the new 2010 gear is much the same.

some cool pics of the C kite

I noticed in the pics that best are running this kite with only 4 lines, is that correct, and why no 5th line? are they running a mini fifth line through the bar?

Depends how you ride and what setup you have. The kite has 5th line attachment point but can be ridden 4 line if you chose. The bar that can come with the kite is a 5 line bar and super sweet. Great big chicken loop, smaller diameter bar and nice and simple.

This kite is, as the website states, a kite that is used for ecperienced freestyle riders. The kite is a c kite and is not suitable for beginner's, intermediate or even freeriders, due to the lack of depower and limited wind range.

So, basically, it's a C kite.......

I forgot to say, an 09 C kite isn't Anything like an 06 C kite.
They are way more efficient, Turn faster, etc. etc.

Got to fly the 15 Team ckite the other day in New York. It feels like the 06 Ckite. Great kite. much better construction though.

Correct me if I am wrong but if you hook an 06-ish C kite up to a more modern bar (below bar clam cleat 2:1 throw) then you are going to have far better safety than originally?

BTW I don't mean a 2:1 multiple pulley type but where the bar sheeting out is effectively doubled.

Does a C kite fall out of the sky (unlike most hybrids etc) if sheeted out too far though?

If you use a SLE bar on a ckite, and throw the bar away to the full length, the c kite will not have any better depower than if you had a normal c bar. The amount of throw in the bar is not the reason why an SLE depowers the way it does.

However, if you have an SLE bar that you want to use both on a c kite and SLE, then just adjust your stopper ball to not allow the bar to travel the intended distance. If the bar did travel the intended distance, it wouldnt be a huge drama, if your c kite can handle that amount of front line pressure. Some c kite will U shape and are real hard to manage.

if you depower a C too much and it crashes it flips face down.. makes a huge hassle, won't have any added depower to soften landings either so there would be little point to it.
