Had a crack at this when down at Inverloch on the weekend. Not so easy on the legs...you can see how out of breath I got very quickly. It's like holding 58kg's in a squat for 1min 10secs

haha good on your missus. Brave girl! How many elbows and shoulders in the face did she really get!?

i've done this on a slightly more involved level

i wore a waist harness, then stitched up some webbing and rope to loop around the spreader bar, then back around my sides to catch onto another (seat) harness which then sat at my backside level. the missus used the harness behind me, and the pressure all goes down through the front spreader bar, not through her arms. needed lots of wind to get it going but once up, we were cruising around for 10 mins without problem. next time i'm going to make up some shoulder loops (like a backpack) so that she doesn't slide down and end up behind my knees. great fun though!

did she have her feet on the board? I like the tow rope idea.

cool stuff. i thought flying objects man would have superhuman strength in his legs

i'd like to try the tow rope idea too. i reackon if the dude you were towing was heavy enough, you'd actually be travelling 10-20ft off the water.

nah she wrapped her legs around my thighs to try and hold on. too hard to put her feet on the board, maybe on a larger board but i was using a 125cm shortie!

Elizabethb: Not a mark on her

Neill: How heavy is your missus or how big are you? I had no issues with her positioning, just strength in the legs. I've got a lot of stamina fromall the different sports I do but I'm not built to lift heavy.

Sunseeker: No they were wrapped around my waist.

Colinwill78: I forgot my cape that day

Newo: Boost? HAH! I thought about it prior to having a go then quickly realised it would be a great introduction to snapping my ankles.
