Can any Switch Nitro 5 Riders comment on the durability of the new Nitro 5 kites, how does it hold up after 10 -12 sessions. Switch kite appear to be built more durable than some other kites. What is your experience with the Nitro 5 kite.
Also due you inspect you kite thoroughly after each session. Would love to hear from Nitro 5 riders

That's only 3 weeks

I've got a Nitro 3 which is still really good after 2+ seasons. Ive also got a couple of Nitro 4's one of which blew out a strut last (its 2nd)season. I think Switch kites are very well made and I'll be keeping my kites until they get shredded, which happens to all kites eventually if the get used and abused enough. Nitro 5's should theoretically be even more solid than previous models but I would guess the Nitro 6's may suddenly appear within 2-3 months.

From the guys I know that ride the nitro 5...not a problem on durability. Well built kites, although I'm not sure why you are even asking this question.

I agree, why that question on a specific release model.

Do you really expect a team rider to say they aren't durable

Other than the bridal, there isn't much different in build (and therefore build quality) between the nitro4 and 5. So if you're happy with how your nitro 4 is holding up I would expect the nitro5 to be comparable.

A local here and great rider has and has had plenty of nitros, he's slams them and hand on heart he's only had the odd bar issue

Short answer is yes. I have a Nitro 5 and very please with it. It's still crunchy and shinny after one year using it several times per month. Overall I believe Switch kites are working hard on improving built quality and materials.

I have 112 sessions on my Nitro 4 12m after about a season and a half, and the canopy is just now starting to soften up a bit. I've really had zero issues with it whatsoever, it's a very well-made kite. All of the stitching still looks brand new, and the canopy is very tight, no bagging out. I've seen this happen in a single season with some kites, so that's a good sign.

Of course, I write this after dropping it into a bush the other day that was apparently made of razor blades, and I now have almost 20 patches on the LE bladder :/ Not switch's fault, though!

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if that's the kind of kite I was going for. The kite bulletproof but consequently is a bit heavier than other brands equivalent models, which may or may not matter to you.

There is nothing whatsoever wrong with switches construction or durability, like most brands now, so once and for all let's move past this bullsh1t.

^^^^^+ 1 for Eppos comments. I have the 9, 12 and 14 Nitro 5. Really happy with the construction and quality. I always try to ride way above my skill level, so I am always b1tch slapping my kites into the water really hard. I am on the water between 5 - 6 times a week. Absolutely no issues with any of these kites.
Disclosure: I pay for my kites, no one would be stupid enough to sponsor me and don't give a rats arse about points.
