This looks to me like it could be a great performance and convenience improvement for boots riders? Thoughts???

Can't wait to get my hands on a set of rads. Velcro dose my head in!

Edit: although they are up there with the more expensive boots out there

Edit edit: I like the idea of the K9 hardware. Altho I don't like that if you pull a insert on the board you will loose the that bolt and locking thing too. So you will have to replace a board and get new hardware. Hopefully it's easy to get your hands on the hardware.
This was a problem I had with humanoid howls. Pulled 2 inserts on different occasions and lost the teeth. I ended up buying new boots only to get the teeth as they weren't available.

Personally I prefer all laces but this is an improvement on velcro for sure, velcro has always been total crap.

i have had the weekend using the new RAD boots, and my mind has blown. this is my first time using slingshot boots so not sure how good or bad the improvements are but i love these boots alot. the fit is absolutely perfect of me and my midget feet. the laces are good but i like how you can crank the gummys down tight over the top and hide the laces.
the gummys take a little bit more time to get sorted and this was a pain in the extreme light wind i had, trying to keep the kite from falling out of the sky and sorting out the straps was a little difficult.
the new mounting hardware is cool. you can make a truckload of stances. only downfall is there are no number so trying to get both boots the same isn't super easy but you will figure it out in the end.

over all im super super happy. i would actually give my satisfaction a 10/10.

Never kited in boots, but have ronix parks on my wakeboard.

those plastic looking straps don't look that good.
just looks prone to fail under stress.
cant understand why you'd go from previous years Velcro to a pin & hole like a watch.
velcro is fail proof.

atleast they look better than last years......

but it nowhere near as fresh as those humanoid boots.
humanoids look so clean and tidy.
id where something like that as an everyday shoe they look that nice.
but I'm just not a fan of all the candy lollipop bullsh** !!

if you're after a pair of good looking boots that work, I'd definitely check out those howls.
think they're only about $450 or something.

because you dont where boots is why you will never understand!

iv been running howls for the past year and half and the slingy rads are better in every possible way!! please dont recommend howls unless you have tried them!

velcro is the devil, from wearing out, fraying out all over the place and every but of chop you hit they come undone!

im sold on the gummy straps as i have been using them for 22 years.

why would you go for only 1 gummy strap at the top and laces down the bottom? and not all 3 gummy straps?

As Kemp90 says velcro doesn't really make much sense, especially in sand.

Gummy strap is a good improvement over velcro, but I still think laces work a lot better and are actually a lot easier/ quicker to tighten right. I don't know where this mentality comes from that laces take such a long time to do up, I'd actually say they are quicker than 3 velcro/gummy straps ever are.

I've used those exact ones pictured many times, they work well. Regular laces tend to grip the locks better than the ones that come with the boots. I find the LF lace locks to be the best gripping, when I had Ronix I used to take their lace locks off straight away, they were rubbish.

That is pretty much what I said (some stock boot laces are alright though).

Got the new KTV boots. Easily best boots I've ever had.
Gummy straps hold tight and don't loosen. Easy in and out.
I used to like lace boots but used to break laces monthly...
And lace fasteners are great when new but after a short time always flog out so they don't hold..
Stoked on the KTVs
