After recent surgery to repair ligaments in my wrist, doc says it'll be 6 mths recovery. I plan on kiting with one hand, but require a sliding stopper that works.

The Slingy one works perfectly, but doesn't work on the Best bar I want to use. The Best stopper slips straight away.

Which ones work?

I like the slingy ones. With a bit of efort you could sell your kite and get a second hand SS kite, with the added bonus on lighter bar pressure.

The old slingy ones work. The 2009 ones dont. Im hoping they sort this out for 2010.

The north one works great. It'll hold to park and ride without aching forearms but you can push through it if it gets a bit gusty and you need to. Not sure about being able to retrofit it to your bar but worth a look.

Liquid Force ones work. They DO NOT allow you to push through, but you will need the right shaped hole in your bar (ie a LF bar) in order for it to work. I once put one on a 07 best bar, it didnt work due to the hole.... dam holes

why not just buy a secondhand slingy bar and lines?

I developed a single line stopper using a plastic ball and a stainless steel screw and nut, tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it worked a charm.

Fully adjustable, when I tried it in light wind you could push it out with a bit of force, in stronger wind it could be a bit harder.

I also thought of a below the bar stopper for use with SLE's that don't unhook that well and overpower you but it is only a thought at the moment.

The other option is the RRD stopper, bit ugly but works on single lines , even with plastic sleeveing lines.

If you keen I can take pic of my stopper and post it here when I have the chance.

how worn is the depower line on your best bar, i have an old yarga and the stopper works just fine. Also have a north bar and the stopper is good has two settings one thats easy and one thats hard to push through.
