Does anyone own a pair, and can comment on how the "true" sizes are? I'm a 9.5 and not sure if I shall go with 9 or 10, as I've heard you get a little more space once broken in.

Also, I've been looking on the Marek which unfortunately have the steel wire, and not sure if this will be a problem with saltwater. Seen people who have that concern, but no comments if it actually is a problem or not. I will of course rinse them properly after each session. As a tall and skinny dude I would prefer a little more stiffness compared to the other boots.

Cheers!

Cant help you with the Marek but with the hyperlights i am a size 11 shoes normally and i have a size 11 in them and they fit fine, slightly snug but still fine, from personal experience id go to the size up if your a 9.5 to make it slightly easier to get in them and then just lace them in a way that makes them fit. The difference between 1/2 sizes isnt really crazy amounts, other people on here have lots more experience in this than me but this is just my 2 cents worth.

I'd say a 9 would be the way to go. However it's best to try on. Come to the shop here in Sans Souci if you can, we have a full size range in stock.

A mate of mine has bought the boots with the BOA system. It has not worked from the get go? He has heaps of difficulty releasing the system and getting slack in the cable. Not sure if his is faulty or if salt has clogged it up. Anyone else got experience with the boa system?

I know a guy who did... he made some epic adjustments, also Rowdy did i think... had a sail maker change them to laces.

I found i was a 43 in the hyperlites and a 45 in a different boot based on the hyperlite team.. best thing is to try them on.

Yep, no problems. This years bindings have toe caps, pretty much the main difference.

Boa systems and salt water/sand simply do not work well without regularly servicing them (which no one does) we steer clear of them for anything kiteboarding related now.

You're right, I did mod my Mareks to have lace instead of BOA and Ewan did the same thing later on as well I think.
Really though you should just buy the AJ or Process, both these boots are ideal for kiting and have no BOA.
KP only stocks Hyperlite without the BOA so you won't have a problem.
BOA systems in any sport are pretty dodgy most the time I think. That one on the back of Mystic harnesses is probably the most silly haha.

If you don't know what the BOA system is I don't think you need to know .

Thanks for all the replies,

might be a pair of AJ 9's then as I think the Process is is ugly as **** (can get really good prices on the 2014 models).

"BOA systems in any sport are pretty dodgy most the time I think" - I have boa on my snowboard boots, which are now around 5 years old and it works perfectly. Like the system but was skeptical when it comes to saltwater.

Really? I thought australia ran out of 2014, well they did when I wanted to buy some. I had to go with a used set of Aj's!

I'm a 9.5 and I got a pair of size 10 Webb boots that fit perfectly. I'd definitely recommend going the size up not down.
