My friend sent me the photos, and they are pretty scary. He told me it was Flatrock though, and that place with drumlines out the back is asking for trouble.

Yep I weighed up the leash option vs body dragging where I kite with great whites. Leash won hands down!

Get a freedom + shark shield installed on your board. Problem solved.

Pick a shark by number on this site and see where they travel, amzing stuff, nth nsw epicentre for tagging juvenile great whites.

Some travel from nsw to nz and back, vic and back, sa and back, wa and back always home to nth nsw , the distances they travel can be 1000s of kms a year

Can spend hours on this site, see shark 28 travels below

Suspect that you are far more likely to be seriously injured by a board injury from using a leash than from a potential shark attack by not using one. YMMV.

Even sharks snob Tasmania.

Large schools of mullet leaving our north coast rivers.
Sharks will be on the hunt up this area.
Be advised to be very aware of sharks around these mullet schools.
Trouble is when the kiting Adrenlin kicks in it's easy to forget about the sea life.
