What I'd pay to be 23 and a semi-professional actor like Kevin.

So they added in a human villain? Why not just use the real villains- no wind and gusty wind?

What other movie villains could they use. Plastic debris, craypots, jellies, sharks & the ol' teabagging?

How about a plot like-

young kid qualifies for KOA via video.

fpoor family sell everything so she can attend.

arrives in Cape Town and gets kid napped day one.

has to escape, then track down and steel gear back.

Turns up late to first heat bruised black and blue. Tough heat and gets knocked out, although pulls some crazy board off. Uses the kite to knock a lost board back to hand with a kite loop lands perfect and becomes a crowd favourite.

It's the plot of North Shore just without Turtle. And that's their biggest mistake.
