Ouch! I think I was about 200m out. Climbed up the lines as quick as possible when I started getting stung, then sat on top of the kite and turned it into a little sailboat, which kept me safe-ish.

Had to unwrap one of the tentacles from my arm, they're surprisingly strong.

I think I'll be wearing my wettie or rashie on infested days from now on!

Damn that's nasty!

I once knew a guy that had one go up the leg of his boardies and it wrapped around his Johnson. He had to be rushed off to a medical centre the pain was that unbearable.

Who kites without wearing a top ? That's just stupid. Not only there's marine stingers but it also protects you from UVs... A 2mm wetsuit top also saved me from when I brushed reef in Hawaii.

I was at my local, just north of Wollongong NSW. Embarrassingly enough I'm pretty sure I forgot to put my donkey dick in, then the lines/kite must have tangled somehow. Got the kite re-launched with what seemed like 3 normal lines and one extra long steering line, but I was getting attacked as soon as I figured that out so climbed up the lines to hide on top of the kite as quickly as possible. Untangling it all today showed no problems, so the lines & bridle were all fine. So glad I didn't have to swim in through it all!

Yeah, I usually wear a full length wettie, or at a minimum long sleeved rash vest due to the sun, but it was a nice dull day. I'm just happy I had my impact vest on, which saved my chest.

I'm glad my old chap survived intact, ready to fight another day!
