I am going to Santorini tomorrow. Has anyone been there to kite and had to hire gear?

FYI - apparently it is unlawful for them to hire out gear without full supervision and a safety boat regardless of experience so if you come here to kite bring your own gear. There appears to be approx regular 15 knot (10 to 20) NNW wind on north east coastline which is the exposed coastline adjacent to and north of the airport. Oia is where the real tourist views are but no wind. $35euro in a taxi between the two.
