can anyone give me some beta on Sandy Point near Wilsons Prom outside of melbourne?
Want to head down for a kite but have never been. What winds works? Tides? Local issues?
Cheers!

any wind direction is covered by Shallow inlet, and Waratah Bay.
Youtube search "Sandy Point" and you should come up with some stuff.

don't launch land in carpark unless you are alone. use flats on other side of dunes.

Give windsurfers lots of room, if they are on a run along the speed course they pretty much have no way of avoiding you. Plus your wake could cause them grief.

I will be there 2 weeks over Christmas break, so if you come then wave me down.

Hey

Will you have room for tents?

I fancy trying to loose another board and making you hire a boat to find it again

Would not mind giving that DOS a go, like hens teeth mate

Next Clinic is
Double Oops.

my wife organises the house and food etc.

3 clients had apparently organised holidays already but not said anything.

So thanks to Promacom and Sheryl's convincing. a house is available earlier.

So, just doing a little bit google mapping, having never been to Sandy point before... the zoom is terrible, can someone answer some questions please..

Where do you go to launch?
Where should i stay (camping)... in Sandy point or the other side near Yanakie?
Whats the fishing like?

Any other info that will keep me out of trouble..

Thanks guys

try Promacom for accomodation.
stay at Sandy Point.
park in carpark.
set up where you like but don't launch or land in carpark, especially around others.
use the flat area around beach side of dunes.
note the above video it is shot from the launch area.

Fishing? well there are lots of fishermen, so that might indicated 2 things
1. lots of fish
2. lots of frustrated fishermen.

Oooh no chop by the looks the missus is keen to head down there now.

It's about 3 hours out of Melbourne I'm guessing?

Waratah bay is for waves, just the other side of the sand.

1.5hrs drive from Berwick. depends on traffic.
