The countdown is on... Nationals starts Thursday.
Hopefully this early forecast is out and improves as the week goes on.

If the southerly stays they won't be at Kurnell. Where's the alternative location?

At least southerlies usually deliver in Syd.
If there are any decent flatwater spots to suit, I don't know.
And I wonder if the event can be held over one day of wind?

Southerly is dead offshore at Kurnell.. Right at the southerly point of Silver Beach can work but it's not great.. If its South will need to be on the other side of the bay

Taken from the Facebook event:

"Southerly winds means we will be at DOLLS POINT!"

Hope this clears up any confusion

the western point of silver beach is perfect for a flat water comp glassy water on northern side. Comp is supposed to be at Kurnell so why go to a very average location like Dolls point for a southerly? With boat support dead offshore is fine especially since everyone should be able to tack upwind if they are competing at a 'National' level

Hmmmm surprised no one has posted a wrap up of the event. So I will add a bit.

I went down on Sunday and conditions looked REALLY tricky!
Wind was howling 35kn and next minute the sun would come out and it was less than 15kn; I saw a few kite changes mid heat!
The chop was bigger at Dolls than the surf at the 2014 Wave Nationals!

Almost witnessed Antoine get shisk-kebab'ed on a pine after a massive gust hit him mid kiteloop.
That was insane to watch!

No event is possible without judges; Elliot, Ewan and Dan were on the sand everyday.
And event staff! Well done all!

Anyway here are the results (a few Seabreezer's in the list below):

U16
1-Manny Blanch
2-Aaron Kenny
3 Kye Evans

U18
1- Luke Smith
2- Matt Buchanan
3-Ryan Hamer Parsons

Masters
1- Rich Stenning
2- James Grundy
3- Rob Sellar

Woman's
1- Marine Sudre
2- Katie Potter
3- Sammy Pearce

Men's
1-Simon Wichtermann
2- Declan McCarthy
3- James Bedford

I heard from sir Rowdy that there was no progression , that no one was advancing an "art form" as most were hooked in and used straps.
Also some contestants rode bmx bikes to the beach with brakes, OMG, lame o's
The pinnacle of kiting evolution was not shown with all the straps and chicken loops getting in the way of true pure progression, art form and by using of ones foot, as a brake on their BMX's. . lol. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

I just want to defend bmx riders who use their feet.

Lotowind you need to invest in 2 of the best hours you can spend watching a bmx bandits DVD.

No, nothing that does it justice! Only you high in the sky against the clouds.
If I was shooting around 30mm and got kite + foreground in the photo, wow that would've been sick!
