Wind definitely not guaranteed at that time of year. Cold fronts only, so northerlies here.

Flat water - North Haven

Waves - Middleton, Goolwa about 80 kms south of Adelaide.

Northerlies are generally always stronger the further south you go. You would be pretty right with a 12m 9m combo, same as required in summer. Sometimes nukes through but....Generally winter here is no wind or cranking.

4:3 full steam machine or your will freeze your totally nutz off

You will be an ice machine from NT, but its not that cold, the NW wind can be like 14 -15 degree days with a little wind chill factor. but the SW to South stuff is cold and super wind chill. Start training now in the local supermarket freezer

but we love that time of year, big fronts and lots of wind, gusty as all, the local rule here is "Bring all your gear all the time" even when we go local it can be predicted 30 knots and go 15 or predicted no wind so you leave your gear and bring a surf board and it blows.

If you are staying for a little bit of time you will easy get some wind but don't leave that small kite behind. generally frontal winds requires 7 - 9m depowering kites depending on your weight.
Then again it might not happen if it shifts into slow winter start?

check www.southcentralkiteboarders.com and www.saksa.com.au for local spots

go into Onboard at Glenelg and they will point you too.

Bring all your gear, its fickle but it can be epic at that time of year. But make sure you have a "Sealed" steamer, you'll need it. The water temp is usually around 12 to 14 degrees, and the wind chill can be farken freezing. Send me a PM a few days before you head over, so i can let you know where we will be riding.

Hey guys,
thanks for all the great info
only there for the week, but may be able to stretch it a bit...
guess the stinger suit is not gonna cut it in terms of climate control
i'm sure there's an old steamer around here somewhere....
will bring as much gear as qantas will allow, which should cover most conditions.
Thanks for the offer croc, i'll PM you as suggested.
righto, i'm off to start acclimatising - flat out aircon's and really cold beer
cheers
