Hey Dudes & dudettes,

What are the best spots to kite at Rotto around this time of year?
I've sailed Salmon Bay (Eastern end) and it was nice, but keen to know what else works.

Where on an Easterly like this mornings?
Where other than Salmon Bay on a SW. Keen to try somewhere different.
Will be sailing on my own, so not too sketchy please.

Thanks.

Best spot in a strong easterly on Rotto is on the far western side near cathedrals! it's called rotto box... Try keep it to yourself , so it doesn't get crowded!! enjoy

I love rotto,
im a little protective of it tho, So is pp by the sound of it and i wouldnt argue with an avatar like that!!!!!

I spent a very long time, by myself alot of the time, watching its quirks and nooks over different seasons, tides, winds and swells. Mostly looking for surf.

If you dont want sketchy stick with what you know.

Probably stick to the onshore side as it is an island,

But get on your bike, look around, waste a heap of time doing it, and even if you end up at the same spot as last time, I have no doubt that the island will reveal itself.
You will be absolutely rooted afterwards ...it is hard fkn yakka and quite fn dangerous...
and so I am sure you will be as reluctant to share your newly acquired hard earned knowledge as I am................ And it will feel so good. Hell if People give it all away then you would not feel the magic that will keep you dreaming all day at work now would it?
There are ghosts tho...no joke

It's a small island! Don't be such a dumbass. Pick somewhere that isn't offshore and have some fun.

Me and a mate kited Thompsons -> Marjorie on sat morning, and then had a session at the eastern end of Narrow Neck on sunday morning, both of them in a cracking easterly.

All good, heaps of fun, but we did have a boat support hanging around if something went wrong.
