I apologise in advance as I have asked these questions a few weeks ago off topic on another thread.

Long time Fuel fan (about 5 years) and I am seriously considering the REV over the Fuel. Is there anybody here that have gone from Fuel to REV? In particular, is there much difference in the bottom end of the 13m REV compared to a 13m fuel? How is the REV for unhooking? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

i was also hooked on fuels for the last few years but have converted to revs depending on where you live and condition, I'm in melbourne and the conditions here change alot so i find the revs perfect coz they have a huge wind range and are perfect for unhooked tricks i just pull on a little depower and they fly fine unhooked. but i have found they do have a little more guts then the fuel eg i'm about 80 85 kg and my biggest rev is a thirteen i sort of compare it to a fifteen fuel and the nine rev is sort of like an eleven. thing i love about the rev is there super user friendly and relaunch is awesome. but on the other hand fuels are a sick kite to......... hard choice.

I used to fly a 15M Fuel, now on a 13M REV on similar sort of days. IMO they are about the same bottom end. If anything the 13M REV may be up & running just a tad sooner. At around 70kgs TT, on flat water Im out there @ 11kts on my 13M REV - having a real good time at 13kts.
I have found the 13 REV gets messy at the bottom end, ie no definate line of will or wont work. This can be a good thing as you can keep working it thru the lulls & pick up the gusts when they happen. With the Fuel it either worked or you packed up.
REV obviously much higher top end and much wider sweet spot. But top-end doesnt really count cos the 9M REV is just so much sweeter the changeover would always happen way before its necessary. AND you have to have a 9M REV Mad if you dont!

As for uhooking - absolutely no problem at all. Everytime I come in I just reach down & unhook, one-handed even, as soon as someone grabs my kite - its easy as

Im currently flying 7m and 11m fuels (both '06)

Pretty happy with the performance of my 7m but my 11m seems to be lacking in the low end and im finding it frustrating in the lighter winds.

I weigh 69kg, ride a liquid force element 128 mostly ride flat water. Been kiting for about a year. Sorta heading towards wakestyle riding but enjoy a lot of everything.

I was thinking of selling my 11m fuel and upgrading soon to the rev. Do you think it would be better to go one size up ie 13m rev because it will get me going earlier?
Is the 11m Rev much more grunty down low than my 11m fuel is?

I only really want a 2 kite quiver so any advice from people who've flown the same kites would be awesome!

hey tom, the 06 fuels have pretty average low end performance, try the 07 or 08 models, the low end is much better
