I phoned the number on the board and a very relieved Bob is picking his board up from my house this morning

Hmmmmm, roll back the clock methinks. You got yourself into it, now get yourself out. Lucky these punters aren't leaning in 2002. Very good chance you would have been the only person out.

Whenever I help out a fellow kitesurfer who's in need of a bit of assistance, I really hope that maybe someone will help me out one day.
After 17 years on the water I still manage to screw things up sometimes.
I definatlley don't follow him along thinking " this kook better cough up a carton of beer or I'm gonna slag him off on a public forum"

Hmmmmm, ah that old chestnut. Gratuities, when are they in order? Certainly not when some punter is out in 35 knts on a 9 fully depowered and stuffs up. He deserves to be helped because he didn't know any better.

I'll bring a couple of BFM Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien Grand Crus down and we can know the froth off em Justhanging.

Hmmmmm, on the hunt for another case sir? It would be prudent to look elsewhere as I haven't needed the service of a professional rescuer during my kiting career. Loads of opportunity at the home of learners AKA Pinnaroo Point.

I feel the 2 vans inside the gate need to move down to accommodate the new rescue van with rubber duckie on top. You need to list your services, painted on the side in large letters I would suggest

... recently on a trip to SA, Robe, with a decent 20 to 25 knots with small waves and rough water, one of the our crew helped out a bloke who was in trouble, in his world he thought he was going to drown, gotten himself to panic stage,,,, ended up dragging him in by his arm back to the beach where he layed on the beach grabbing his breath back kissing the ground. Meanwhile one of our other crew saved his board.

Later, the bloke drove up and down trying to give us $50,,,,, none of us would take the money,,, "pay it forward dude",,,,, so yeah its what you do for fellow kiters.

Mind you, had he turned up with a carton,,,, we would have insisted he join us for a few, then we would have taken it in a heart beat,,,, so long as he joined in,,,, that's when a carton is welcomed with open arms.

Well said Robbie,
If it wasn't for a couple of diligent kiters on the beach it may of well been a total different out come.
I don't think I've ever seen a kiter so grateful for some help.
I was out on the water that day and I did see the kite down on the waters edge but to self consumed in what I was doing. This near miss has taught me a lesson. head down wind a bit and see if all's ok. Clear it wasn't.
I dip my lid to Wayne and others that helped out!!!!
