Just putting it out there to see if anyone has kited Pacasmayo Peru, I'm thinking of heading there to celebrate a milestoneb'day.
Anyone been there, Worth the effort? Am thinking of a week or two and then onto the Galapogas Islands.

From memory when I researched it, found people's trip reports etc, I got this out of it:

* One of if not the longest and best left hand breaks in the world
* Wind can be hit and miss
* Quite remote, therefore very little other attractions / things to do.

So if surfing is your thing then sure, but if kiting is your main game then there are much better places to go eg: NE Brazil.

Hi Deefer, Was there in early June this year /23 with friends . El Nino current warmed the water significantly ,which leads to less wind. Surf good and length of wave from Faro/Lighthouse is 3/4 to 1 mile + depending on your desire to schlog upwind . Only used 12 mtr w/SB . Foiling /winging /windsurfing is good . Launching at Hotel can be sketchy ,best to speak with those who are familiar with place to locate wind shadow, current . When surf swell comes up it gets busy, Brazilians fly into surf .

if you're going from Oz, unless you are going to do something else in Peru (and its an awesome place) I would go to Brazil. Pacasmayo seems like a one-hit wonder, (wasn't working when I went there though). Although I would go for winging maybe.

As Phoney says, northern Brazil and you're guaranteed a good time, warm water and cold caipirinhas.

Small mushy stuff. Maybe 1-2m in some spots like river mouths but from what I experienced it's pretty messy.

There are surfing towns on the south east coast, with great waves. Wind isn't reliable however.
