I have bought a second had monkey griffin and all the valves are the one way type. The kite infates fine but within 10 minutes it becomes soft on 3 of the struts and the leading edge.

What is the best way to realign the seals so they do not deflate?

but i do not understand how this would work.

Get a bucket of hot water and put the valve into it until nice and soft.

Then when valve is still hot, pump up the kite and massage around the failing one-way until it frees up.

For really bad valves, you may have to repeat this many times.

This is what I have done for North and Naish one ways - not sure about the Griffin.

That seems far easier then taking the bladder out and replacing the valve

You need to find out if it is really leaking out of the one ways...you may have holes in the bladders in which case you are going to have to take them out.

^^ Plow may be right here... it may not be the one ways. Dunno how the Monkeys work, but Ive got a Naish with a couple of dodgy one ways. Everything stays pumped up ok but when i'm packing up and open the dump valve on the leading edge, two struts go down as well, suggesting those one way valves are shot. If struts and LE are going flat, it obviously means air's leaking out somewhere either thru a puncture or inflate valve... fixing the one ways won't stop it going flat.

i think he is talking about the 1 way valves at the point you put the pump in, not the 1 pump system (i dont think monkeys even have them)

so, if i am right, you have 1 of these problems

1) there is a leak and it is going down after you put the plug in. if this is the case it more likly that your valve has come unstuck from the bladder and needs to be glued black on or you have a hole somewhere in the bladder

2) the air is escaping between when you take the pump out and when you put the plug in, if this is the case, then you can just pinch the valve to let little or no air out.

You are correct, the kite does not have a 1 pump system. Every valve has to be pumped up individually.

What im finding is that i pump the whole kite up and after 10 minutes some of the struts go down. When i go to pump them up again so that i can get a session anyway, even as short as they are. When i take the plug out the plastic stopper in the one way valve hasnt stopped the air coming out. That is why i first thought it might be the valves

nah, the struts shouldnt go down, they should hold the air all day. more likely the valve has become detatched from the bladder or there is a small hole in the bladder somewhere, its a pretty easy fix, just got to find the leak
