Hello! I'm here looking for for an advice!

It's my boyfriend birthday soon and I'll get him a kite (I know he loves North brand and he needs a 14m kite).
We're beginners. Not sure whether this is going to be relevant but he's 182 cm tall and weights 85kg.
I found a great deal for a new kite North Pulse 14m, the shop owner is telling me that this kite will do great for him. When I look for information online I read that this kite is: crossover, big air, hybrid C, great for jumps, tricks and unhooked (I mean, we're not there yet!!!!! ). It is easy to relaunch and that this kite "can do it all". So, everything is telling me that this kite was not meant for beginners but at the same time.. it could work just fine. I know a North Reach or any other freeride kite would be better, but I could not find anything I can afford.

Looks like you've done some good research.

A kite shop is often going to push you to buy what they have instead of what is really best for you.

If your BF is a beginner, then this is not the ideal choice of kite. Anyone can progress with any kite, so yes it could be fine, but definitely not the best option.

Ideally you'd choose a freeride kite with pulley bridles (instead of pulley-less "fixed" bridles like on the North Pulse). You want something more in a "Delta" shape which will provide easier handling, better low-end performance and easier relaunching.

I'd suggest you keep doing more research and buy something more suited for him. Another idea is to get him a voucher from a shop so he can buy what he likes later on.

North only has the pulse and the orbit in 14m which aren't really beginner friendly, so you should probably look at other brands if you want a 14m.

Orbit are a great beginner kite. But just get xrs ????????
