I was offer to buy a neo north kite that was bought in a shop in Vietnam. The person brought it to Australia and is trying to sell it here. I would like to hear from anybody that bought kites in Vietnam and if the quality is the same as if you would buy in Australia or Europe. The same person claims that there is only one factory for North kites, in Malaysian, and that the kite he bought in Vietnam is legitimate.

North is manufactured in a multi brand factory in
sri Lanka , ozone are manufactured in their own factory in Vietnam

Yep, all North kites come from a single factory. There is no such thing as fake big brand kites so you have nothing to worry about

thank you man. i think i feel more relax and going to buy it. it would not be a bad idea to travel to vietnam for kitesurfing and only buy the gear once you are there.i think is about 200 oz dolat cheaper than buying here. then bring them to australia and sell here.

hei guys, I spoke again to the guy that wants to sell the kites today and asked him to send pictures of whatever may be wrong with the kites and so he told me there is a mark on the trailing edge from robing on the sand (which is normal) and email me some pictures. So while looking at them, I notice, in particular the green, that it does not have the same colors of green kite 2017 model that can be found on the actual North Kites website. So I rang the guy again and he is saying that the name NEO is written in black, however I was saying to him that it should be in PINK according to the North Kites website. Anyway, he will send me some more pictures tomorrow. In the mean time, while waiting for more pictures, I thought to share these pictures with you guys and see if you guys can recognize the kites as 2017 model just for now. I also asked him to describe the serial numbers on the kites and these is what he described: 9 m - GNK17NEO090397; 7m - GNK17NEO070425; 5m - GNK17NEO050166.

I'd be more concerned about that big toe getting anywhere near the canopy.

Tia my word for it - the 'North Face' gear in Vietnam is NOT from the factory .. haha its just crap knock offs but still with a few hours walking around the shops.

That green is current 2017 colours from what I can see in the pic.

I think my 2017 10m neo is that green but im pretty useless at colours. My 8m is blue, no idea what the 6 colour is!

For the sake of saving $200 I would rather buy local and peace of mind. Keep Aussie jobs here

As said above, almost all stores have deals going at the moment.For the sake of a few bucks, go with a local store and get the back up support to go with it.If anything goes wrong, down the track, you'll have nothing but headaches trying to get a solution out of Vietnam.Good luck
