Hi All, I bought a 2018 North Dice. So far i have put 5 cuts in the canopy, in different places. From 5 mm to 30 mm. All in the middle of the canopy, not near the wingtips where I'd expect them.
I have had plenty of other kites and never had this before.
Is anybody else having the same issue.
I love the kite, it my favourite to fly at the moment, but i don't think it will last very long.

Possibly some faulty material got through quality control if
its just coming apart without excess abuse, I did read a thread identical a few years back on sb when someone had similar on same manufacturer, not sure about result

I've often seen people secure their kite by putting their board on it. This is fine but I recommend facing the footstraps downwards towards the kite and NOT the fins.
Fins can get pretty sharp over time and the canopy flapping up against them when the board is sitting on it fins down it can create little cuts that increase when you are flying and the fabric is under load.

i secure the it same as all my other kites, straps down. no problems with others.
i'll keep am eye on it and make sure its not something i'm doing different. Think i will go back to previous brand.

Do you know that you did the cuts? Because crickets can do this sort of damage given the chance

It could be something on the beach, or self launching or rolling it up near bindies. Look through it for pin holes, they maybe from sticks or something that'll stretch to a little rip after use. I doubt itd be the material otherwise everyone would have the issue.

agreed above...something else has caused this. Literally tens of thousands of these dice buggers around the globe without this issue...man my brothers 2015 8m dice was looped beyond recognition over 4 years, and is still flying - without any cuts...

Something's happening here...something is causing it....frustrating I bet!!!

I self land a lot in high wind and often this causes small tears in these areas due to kite going upside down.
Could this be the case?
