An antonym to the "usual"

An event unlike any other(ok exactly like others)
A by riders for riders event with a few different elements, style is key- not necessarily unhooking (wakeskates/surfboards/skimboards welcome). There will be some basic levels to qualify (predominantly around awareness, safety and attitude) a few sessions of ridding to find the most "polished" rider around, the rider will gain:glory, some form of booze, what ever else i think of,

This will not be an "official" event, you wont get any points towards a national anything or a PKRA ranking, you will have fun and hopefully see some incredible riding from the best riders on the day (gypsys welcome) Note: if any PKRA athlete is around and wants to join they are welcome.

Dates:TBA
Format: multiple "Free session"
Judging: Rider voted with oversight by one or two people to break any dead lock/keep an eye on things

... we have them every day,,,, kinda,,,,,, and at the post session beers, we talk sh!t and work out who kicked arse and wins for the day, we have:

- have most improved award
- highest performance ratio ie a beginner whose pulled off their first jump has a higher ratio than a 12 veteran who does a big jump
- fastest run
- sh!ttest jump
- best prang
- worst short tacker
- blah blah made up awards made on the spur of the moment basis

The more beer the more awards Usually the more laughs the better so every one is in with a chance in the best crash awards. No matter who turns up, your in, your a compeditor!!

I suggested this and I did it because last year Dan Sweeney and I knocked out some Australians and the results of the Australian placings could have been very different in the event if it were not for this. It isn't good for anyone. Dan and I came 1st and 2nd in the event respectively and it both pissed people off and sucked for us because it didn't really mean much as the only results posted in the mags were of the Australians (we were not included) and some very good Australian talent got knocked out early in the comp. I am going to organise some Triple S style comps here in Oz but for now I think this event is best done as an Australian only event. I asked specifically if we could do another division just named the open event that we could compete in but due to time constrictions this isn't going to happen unfortunately. Dan and I will be judging along side some other very qualified people and hopefully we will have a very fair result and some great competition.

So you'll give kudos to your mates and associates first?

Ive never met Elliot, i think his post has some merit and goes towards similar thinking.

I know Dan and several other local guys who ride who are not Australian citizens Cayque rode in the state titles and rode a strong heat, Kye also shredded however all three are ineligible to win anything.

I would like to see an incentive for great riders to ride, enjoy and push themselves- Great that Robbie is getting and sharing the stoke.
I am thinking is that it would be great to see the level of ridding being pushed- i guess this is happening with more and more pros in Australia over the last weeks and seeing their level.

My aim is to see more riders pushing themselves, looking at where things can go and a focus of training- we have some great talent, who knows how good it can be?

If you don't like what I (or any others) am thinking- do not get involved, pretty easy...Happy to talk through my thinking with anyone that has an issue also.
