www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=10675479Nanny state is exactly what it is. You don't need a law for every possible scenario, there are already laws to deal with assholes. The sad thing is the person draughting this all up is making up more work$$ for themselves coming up with all this bullsh1t
No more than 10 mates having a laugh/get together on beach - JOKE

No filming or photography for professional use - WTF - what is this a police state - JOKE.
No glass bottles or containers - so you cant take your own lunch unless in a plastic bag - JOKE
No Alchohol - What if I wanna have a beer or a glass of wine at the beach at sunset - freedom erroded - Joke
No diving from groin or pylon - so kids don't end up having any free fun any more - it was ok for teh older genreation but too dangerous for teh new generation huh - thats rich.. - Joke
no sun shelters/unbrellas bigger than 3sm - what is this North Korea? JOKE
No flying kites - so even on those days when it is unsuitable to be at teh beach and you are on a downwinder - you cannot stop here even if you are in teh **** - and little 3 year old timmy cannot fly his toy kite.. JOKE
No toy vehicles - yeah wahetevr..
No sitting or loittering to obstruct pathways or steps - 2nd world war occupied France? there is already a law to sort any assholes out - we don't need more and more.
No digging big holes - too mad...
Well that special kind of American Freedom we all love to hate starts to infect Australia is the way I see it, driven by litigation. Don't thing you can do anything fun for free in teh near future.
Fight the idiots coming up with this kind of crap - yep, and i also bet the instigator (probably one person with a chip on their shoulder about youth) don't use the beach anything like the amount we do.
It is pretty much discriminating against the fun that younger people like to have, and the older generation had. You make up too many rules and teh future generation will end up with no common sense whatsoever and I promise things will get worse. Educating about mutual respect is far more important.
These bylaw proposals are in for a rough time - I just hope people actually bother to lodge a submission against them rather than rely on someone else - then its too late..
