The times my gear has been damaged or I've had serious kiting injuries have all been caused by some Newb being reckless on the beach or water.

1. Do not practice body dragging on the busy part of the beach where its full of kite traffic. Just use your head and have respect for other people.

2. When walking up the beach, hang your kite towards the beach not over the water, unless you want to cause a major tangle.

3. When launching someone's kite, do not let go of kite until you get the thumbs up sign. This has happened to me so often and yes some retard picked up my kite then let it go tumbling down the beach where it picked up a rip.

4. When someone more experienced tells you to stop making life dangerous for everyone else, listen to them.

5. Stick to tennis, it's obvious it suits you more than kiting.

Some valid comments Surf12 however perhaps not the best 'tone' to get your point across.
Furthermore if you are encountering so many issues with Newb's perhaps your judgement and skills need some refining.

Plus one for tone being harsh but a couple valid points. Number 2 needs review though, always safer to have kite towards the water: if something goes wrong, at least you're heading towards water and not up the beach. It is common etiquette for a kiter on the water to give way and head out for another tack if launch area is tight and someone is trying to get off the beach with a kite in the air.
Point 5: I don't like tennis.

I've had experienced riders who should bloody know better lob kites into the air before I'd even gotten properly in position, let alone given a thumbs up.

1 makes sense but people tend to tell newbies its super dangerous to kite alone so they probably think the more kiters the better.

2. Do you really have to kite within 20m of the shore?
I have seen some kiters who feel the need to do tricks really close to newbies or the launch land area. Showoffs.
3. If getting someone you dont know to launch a kite. Tell them to wait for a clear thumbs up.
if they still let it go early give them a scolding.

what ****s me is people who have to do tricks right where everyone is launching and landing,
people who stand on the beach staring at their kite or talking with their kite at 12:00 for half an hour.
And dont get me started on guys riding surfboards who think they can suddenly turn into your path at any time.

I think a few of us forget how ridiculously dangerous and stupid we were when we learned.

Kite schools are happy to get someone up and sell them gear but don't teach them about how to be safe around other kiters or the public.

It's just getting old watching Newbs crashing their kite on people sitting on the beach, or body dragging inbetween families in the water.

If this offends anyone here or on the water, then stick to tennis and stop wrecking everyone else's day.

Maybe instructors should show some footage of kite accidents to their students.
Also people go on about how the kiting community is one big welcoming family that will be there to help you out and hold hands but truth is we're just normal (mostly) people who get the poos on if newcomers are being idiots.
when i was learning I stayed downwind of everyone till i could go upwind.
if you know your safety system and self rescue you should be safe to learn away from crowds and get yourself back to the beach if you stack it.0

Agree, its usually pretty obvious who can take the downwind option without it spoiling their day. It doesnt need to be strict rules but it can save confusion in an actual head on.

Hows about you use ya noggin and give the newb some room ya thick Twat,

Wear a helmet, gopro, impact vest, sunglasses, board leash, zinc on nose and use a loud voice, showing off to all your mates on beach and we will give you a wide berth

Im with Cauncy on this one. stay away from the shore and let them hang their kite over the water is a safer bet due to wind shadow or walking traffic its not just about u getting to megaloop off a 4ft kicker for your fans on the beach.. one good tip i got was to rig for the lulls :)
