So after 18months of riding I'm finally ready to buy my first new kite. That being said I am a student so new for me is going to be a superseded bandit 3 unless anyone has a better idea...

I currently ride an old (07) 10m switchblade and recently bought a 7.5m bandit dos. Ever since my first flight of the dos I've been in love hence the decision to stick with the kite and get rid of the switchy. My problem now just lays with what size to get...

I'm tossing up between 9 or 10m, leaning towards 9 just because after flying the bandit my old switchblade is just so boring to fly. When I do get it out I find it unresponsive and lacking energy compared to the bandit. Is this just to do with the size, or also the design of the kite. I'm worried that if I buy the 10 it'll be just as slow but then if I get the 9 there isn't much of a gap b/w the two (although my next upgrade might be to swap the 7.5 for a 7). What sort of two kite quiver do most go with?

Not sure if that will make sense to anyone but would appreciate any feedback.

*I usually ride the 10m in 15-19 and the 7.5 in anything above that
*Im ~72kg, ride a twintip, mostly in flatwater, WA...

Go the 10 0r even 11 for your weight and remembering our winter weather can be gusty light crap which leaves most struggling on 10s

There light and turn fast - combined with the depower, you have a huge wind range....

If I had a dollar for every time Ive been out on a 12 (80kg) and seen people do the walk of shame with 9 & 10s etc

It's got real teeth.

It's a Hybid, delta, bow LEI, C doona kite.

Good low end and high end, stable and faster turning than last year.

Great for Wave, Wake, Freestyle or kids.

I'd be keen on the monster I'm just worried about the bridle system it's carrying... Maybe the purple bear is more me

But really, would the 9 be suitable or am I leaving the gap too small?

I don't get that excited by riding in anything much below 15knots anyway...

9 and 7.5m are too close.

If it's a two kite quiver go a 10 or 11m.

I used to have a 9m B3, it was sic.

It was my only kite, i'm 85kg, and could get out in anything over 16kts. They have huge power and good boost.

The 10 would be good too though if you wanted a bit more wind range. Either way, going the F-one, you'll find progression in your riding. Maybe a 9 and an 11? You'll be covered from 15-30 odd kts

The Bandit 3 isn't as grunty as the Dos, so 10 minimum.
