So Im gonna be on a mates yacht in new caledonia for July/ August and was wondering of its worthwhile us bringing our kites in the offseason or is the offseason really "off"?

cool - what are we talking strength wise? my biggest kite is 12m is that gonna be enough? any point taking smaller?

I've heard it's 15-20kts and hit and miss.

The mountains accelerate the SE trade winds past Noumea. I usually take a 10m. July/August is a bit variable but you can probably expect 3 days a week. You need a high in the Tasman Sea to set up the trade winds.
