Lost my board in fast current out to sea. Doing research to replace. 65 years old . Just enjoy going out in the sun, small jump transitions , up to 25 knots. Like to feel the board flex a bit through chop, get upwind easily, carve nicely; don't need boost / pop etc. This Code has got my attention but I've never seen or heard anyone actually using one or any comments on any forum. First boards for ozone, not sure if they have caught on or really do what the promos say. Would be grateful for any feedback from anyone who actually owns one or has tried one. Cheers.

I've ridden it in choppy flat water in Botany Bay, Sydney and also in surf up here in Lennox. Everyone I demoed it to liked it. I found it handles chop really well, definitely cuts through it and does not destroy your knees and ankles. In the surf, it was great in shoulder high waves, rides easy toeside.
Pads and straps are very comfy. Ozone has been building boards for well over a year now, and have invested heavily in modern CNC machines and presses, all the materials are A grade quality.

Ozone are NZ based from memory, tbh this board was on my list of must try boards amongst others, I had a close look and it looked a very nice bit of kit, good rocker/ concave, aggressive outline on the rail and decent flex , but with some stiffness making it a decent board to progress on, only thing that put me off was the lack of reviews compared to other rides I was interested in and inc demo stores locally,

Yes, exactly the position I have got to. Guess I'll have to talk all that through with the retailer here and see about a demo ride myself. Thanks for your words.

Ha, yeah its ok, my only intention was to help. I've ridden the board so I answered because I knew not many would have. You should be able to find an Ozone dealer in Auckland with a demo though, if not call the Ozone shop in Raglan and get them to send one to your nearest dealer.
My shop in Sydney sells Cabrinha and I rate it as a much better ride, the Spectrum is a flat bottom entry level price point board, rides ok in lighter winds, but when loaded with more power in windier conditions, it tends to bend and not ride so well or go upwind as easy. Quality and finish on the Ozone is better too.

I have one of these and I liken it to a Nobile 50Fifty I previously had.
Great straps/pads. Eats chop, decent pop, soft landings.
Great all round board.
I am 52 with trashed knees and this board is great.

I've ridden the board myself and have to say it's a nice board. Has slightly more drawn in tips then most of the other freeride twintips I've used and at first thought I wasn't going to like it, how wrong I was!

the board handles sweet! the drawn in tips actually make it carve really nicely. I demoed the board up at Lancelin in WA and found I could muck around in the waves on it nicely as well as in flatish water, and performed in both better then I thought.

It Trucks upwind, boosts nicely and the flex pattern is perfect, I'm sure the ozone guys can tell you why it does this but it works a treat. That day up at Lano was one of the best kites I've had in a long time and the code was built for that allrounded riding. I'm not a massive fan of Ozone kites personally but I have to say they knocked the ball out of the park with the twin tips.

In comparison to the North X-Ride, Cabrinha Spectrum I have to say it beats both boards hands down to me personally in almost every way. Two of the guys I ride with have Shinn boards and while both liked it they still preferred their Monk and Bronq.

If you can demo it, always demo first! But hopefully this'll help if you can't!

on a personal note while I liked the Code, I personally brought a Torque it was a bit more lively and the pop is insane!

I have been riding this board for the last season and have to say I like it. Holds a great edge, boosts and lands well and the foot pads are very comfortable.

The only drama that I have had with it is the screws. Shortly after I bought it I pulled one of the foot pad screws, it was completely stripped. Cleaned it out and found a new screw that fitted and haven't had any more problems.

The screws for the fins however I have to keep tightening, especially right foot heel side which is what I do all of my boosting off. by the end of the season I had to tighten these screws every session. Nothing that a bit of locktight or something won't fix, I just have to get around to it.

Aside from that a great all round board.

The weight of a Brick - there's better boards that will look after your knees..

I actually upgraded from a Cabrinha Spectrum. Demoed the Code 1 when it first came out. Also Demoed the Shinn Monk. I went with the latter, but it was a tough choice. I think the monk had slightly more flex and was a smoother ride through chop.

All in all, from the 2 hours I had with the Code I thought it was great, you won't be disappointed with it.

mid fifties, tried quite a few boards looking for one 'do it all' easy on knees board. Settled for Flysurfer Radical 138 (105 kg). Goes well in chop, well upwind, great for jumping,, super comfy pads, very light, early planing - good for light wind too. Try it if you have access to a demo.

In the past used to ride shinn dundee - great board but they don't make them anymore. Did not like Monk enough to keep it - too flexible for my taste.

OR Mako butter smooth through the chop, no flex though, footpads are comfy as.

3.7kg for the 141 x 42cm.... pretty standard weight amongst TT's

Most other boards we have are 3.5kg to 3.8kg for that size or less.

Core Fusion3 139 x 41.5 is 3.5kg which is a super high end, lightweight board.

Most of the time it's the pad/straps that can blow out a board weight, the new Shinn Backspacer 137 x 44cm is 3.3kg with sneaker 6 straps, the SRS straps make it 3.5kg
