The only reason some twats on kiteforum are critical of this footage is jealousy. 1.) they dont have waves like this and 2.) they cant kite like this.

Ryland, what was the wind speed if you were on a 9m REV?

pretty sure most of that "noise" was me, and i still stand by my point of view.

p.s. can't take away from the fact that it is very good for unstapped riding though.

Grang. was going upwind on the 9 in about 13 knots easily and holding it upto about 25. could hold more if hooked in but.

Exactly. Sure it's no secret but why tell the whole world? Why would you want to attract more attention to the place than there already is? I have seen 16 kiters out there at once and it just doesn't work at all.

But anyway, I watched the vid.
I can't recall seeing any wipe-outs.
There must have been some wipe-outs.
(I wish they wouldn't edit-out the wipe-outs).

Cause I'm thinking Ry wasn't wearing booties or a leggie.
The glare in the vid was bad and it made it hard to tell for sure.

Strapless riding at Gnaraloo is fine until you fall,
cause your leggie-less surfboard will be pushed fast by the foam,
right across the reef and all the way to the cliffs sometimes.
Then you have to drag your body over the sharp coral to retrieve your board from the small caves surrounded by jagged rock while flying a kite in gusty air.

It's all fun and games at Gnaraloo.
