Can somebody please enlighten me to the definition to the named styles.

Free Ride and Free Style sound pretty much the same to me, and then there is New School ???
Does that mean that old school no longer relevant and did it really exist in the first place.

I have Wake-style and Wave riding sort of figured. (It took me a while but I nutted it out in the end).

The reason I want to know is that I am looking at getting new gear, and the definitions or graphs ( Blurrrb/Hype) on the manufactures websites tell me that the kite will perform better for those riding styles, so I want to know if that applies to me. Will it matter or is it all just sales BullSheet

I am sure that there is some technically minded person out there that can clarify this for me.
