How good is this thread.

it's the best publicity for mambo????.
I've never been to mambo but the (volunteer) guys and girls put in countless hours of work to pull events like this off. Most donate money back into the local community, support local suppliers and spread the rest back to ALL the contestants. Usually it falls onto the same people that run these kind of AMATUER events unless they have a great committee. Testament to their success is their longevity. Their would be a massive pool of past contestants that would raise their glass in support of the event and the organisers.
Nothing personal Leo. I used to coach surfing years ago; here's three free tips
1. When someone bags you answer them with nothing or a smiley face and bash the **** out of the next lip you surf
2. Your skills are mad great, but the filming, editing, are letting you down in your clips. Team up with a young wannabe camera guy (not Alex) and tell your story in film. Go look at some of the latest short surfing clips for inspiration.
3. Don't bag the rare kite events or people for not putting your name on photos. If you don't like something, bite your forum tongue and approach it in a constructive adult way. Volunteer your time and ideas for making improvements, in person.
Good luck
