My weekend was mixed.
Strolled down the coast after a morning surf in clean 2ft conditions.
Got to Merimbula around 1:30pm and it looked like it was nuking.
Went to the lookout where there was a few enjoying a few Corona's.
Wind looked as though it was around early twenty's, with most being on 9m and twin tip waves so off to ere it was 2 foot, with an onshore mushy wind.
Wind felt solid so out I went. It was horrid... Nothing behind the wind.
Got out feeling devo but then the BWS crew rocked up.
It was on for the spectators.
Ian Alldrege was shredding, better than in all those movies...
That bald tanned guy that snapped the board was doing some nice strapless airs, and Brodie Adlington was throwing buckets!!!
And Marcel's frontside airs, OMG...

I went back out and then it dropped off and everyone went in...

Shame it wasn't windier with better waves but a fun weekend regardless.

Had an awesome time as usual. The wind and swell could always be better, but got a couple of good kites in. Drank way to much and now feel bloated so it was back to the gym for me this morning!! Already looking forward to next year..

Leo tells me he got 2nd behind Ian Eldridge. I think he is stoked about that. Not bad for a guy who only started kite surfing 3 years ago.

Hey Tony.. Yeah it was a shame you couldn't get down, we had a good crew there this year! I think we all drank a bit to much though, ha ha!! Leo was ripping, he was throwing some pretty big strapless airs / back rolls.

thanks a lot man.

It was just a custom 5'5" Shortboard. It is a 19 1/4" wide so its really stable, planes easy and catches the wind when you leave the water!
