'Low V' bar?

I fly F-One Bandits 7/9/12m plus a 15m Breeze from my 2020 F-One lynx bar.
I have acquired an RRD Obsession Mk9 10.5m (2017) which should use a Low V Global bar v7.
Do you think I can comfortably use my existing Lynx bar on this kite?

There is a web pic online showing almost all bars are compatible with almost all kites. Cant find the pic now but i did note Bandit was about the only one that said any bar cant be used. If you google around you will find it.

this topic has been lengthily discussed on various forums and Facebook groups.

When a kite is designed, it's designed to be flown for optimal performance on either a High V or Low V bar.

Can you swap Low V bars on High V kites and vice-versa? - YES, but I don't recommend it.

Will you notice a difference? Will it have negative impact on your kite performance? - very likely, yes. That would depend on many factors such as your skill level, wind speed, wind quality, how big the kite is, your kiting style / discipline, etc.

There are no safety issues in doing this, so just try it and see for yourself.

What's wrong with the bars? I've used them and they seem to work well enough

I've been flying an older 9m Mono on a low V bar for a few months - can't tell the slightest bit of difference from when I used to fly it on a high V bar. High V is a pain in the bum IMHO, if a kite *needs* it I wouldn't buy that kite unless you're 100% locked in to that brand now and forever.

Flies duotone... definitely a weirdo!

It's been discussed quite a few times. Obviously, you are on the safe side to fly a high v designed kite with a high v bar. Wheather it will be any ddifferent with a low v, it depends on the stiffness of the LE and the size if the kite.
However, it is very easy to replace the stopping ball with one that has a a hole for the safety line to run through freely. You can run the safery line through the ball or not, depending on the kite design. I fly my Duotone kites on a Noth bar modified like that.

Along time ago at a beach far far away I flew a low v design kite with a high v bar/lines and thought my new kite was crap. It did it, but performance was compromised a lot. The difference was chalk and cheese when I started using the right low v bar/lines.

A kite designed for a low V will have the leading edges of the tip pulled in or held in by a high V set up.
this may or may not have an impact.
the reverse is possibly true.
I suspect that kites that aren't effected have had a lot more effort put into their design geometry.
