that was the sa version, check out the dutch version of the king of air in late November, makes the sa version lame in comparison, of which the top 2 and a few others were throwing down the biggest loops on the flexifoil hadlows

I have had an 11m edge for a couple of months now and slow is not a word I would use to describe this kite. I have been looping the sh!t out of it the whole time and don't find it slow in any way. One thing that really impresses me, apart from the incredible boost and hangtime, is the speed at which it turns especially at the bottom of the window down close to the water.....super responsive.
I would recommend demoing the edge. It really suits my style of riding which is boosting and hangtime for board offs with some free riding and pimped out transitions

Another kite I tried and found to be a great boosting machine was the Naish Draft, but ended up going with the edge.

the Edge is definitely not a fast turning kite - boost & hangtime awesome but turns like a truck (owned & ridden 7,9,11,13,15,17)

The 9m edge is pretty hard to beat however, I recently tried a mates 9 draft and I have to say very comparable to the edge and significantly less $$ as well.

Had Parks a few years ago and yes they were terrible. Went to Rebels . Hang time awesome but very slow to loop. Have now gone 2014 Park 12 m and am loving it. Boosts well and also loops very well and is a very fun kite to fly as it is very quick flying. Im not into wake style but down loop front roll transitions and back roll kite loops etc are so much easier than with the Rebel .Also very quick turning which makes it good in the surf as well. The new fixed bridle seems to have made a big difference.Now to work on those Darkslides....

Thanks, the desire to put out a 5 as well is interesting, that must be an incredibly small market, either for very light weight riders or the average rider in extreme winds? Now that's an interesting proposition.

Anyone who knows there edges will tell you as the sizes decrease the less refined they become, the 7 in big winds is a real handful a 5 in its current shape would be very twitchy,
So I'd say it's been re designed in this size, I've had the 7 out a few times in over 40knt nw fronts , not sure what winds a 5 could cope with

Yeah thats where my thinking was going Cauncy, I've had my 7 out in 40 knots, a 5 out in something strong enough to get a boost out of it would be nuts. Fun, but nuts.

In king of the air the majority of kites where c kites not because they boost the biggest but the competitors are sponsored freestyle/wakestylers which is their daily ride although it helped that they megaloop the best. The biggest jump was done on a bow kite north evo. If u want to unhook and boost a c kite is fine i fly razors but ive been on kites that boost better (although not as nice for freestyle) so maybe look for a hybrid

Well thats it king of the air is a mega loop comp really.The evo looks more like a c delta to me.I fly the north vegas which a sharp elevator boost to it ,but the hangtime is not so good. i tried my mates 9 m core xr 2 in only 16 knots and it felt good in the air.I would love to give that rip 25 knots.I have edges in the bigger sizes .The 13 and the 17 and the hang time is glider like.

ive seen bandits do some big boosts.The core xr has a good rep and the evo at the king of the air..C deltas seem to be up there with the best.

If you like light bar pressure and fast direct turning try a Vegas and a Mist as well. I am doing what you describe, a little bit of wakestyle, loops, and boosting in manly flat water and they are good at it. Mist has a better hangtime, Vegas better slack. Don't see why boosting posts always end up being about Edges and Zephyrs or even Rebels and Evos. Those are pure freeriding/boosting kites but are crap for unhooking and looping. RPM and GTS2 etc are also worthlooking at for sure. If you are into a bit of freestyle/wakestyle you will know how to cope with the fact that those kites throw you high but you come down fast, as opposed to floating for half an hour ending up 500m downwind

Raw boosting and looping the C4 is quite good and it's also designed for wakestyle so holds it's own with the big boys in that department.

I'd look at the Best TS 2014. Great kite for wakestyle (most of the best boys on PKRA are using it over the GP) and it has awesome crossover characteristics. Loops like a beast as well.

RPM is really good for wakestyle and looping too. Love the hangtime on this and it's a great all around performer.

7, 9 and 10m don't turn like a truck at all!
actually the 7m is super fast especially on 23m race lines.

if you want to get the extra 10% out of your boosting get some 200kg race lines! kites responses and turns faster

Ozone designs every size separately! i agree with you tho the 7m can be a handful especially in gusty winds.
Boosting has to happen fully over lit when you can barely walk into the water with your kite ;)
