anyone used this kite? how much depower should there be at the bar alone?

I switched from 08 model which had huge depower at the bar, but this one (flown it once only, 12m in 22 knots) didn't seem to have heaps of depower at the bar. It was ok, but not as much as 08 model. This makes it a bit sketchy when trying to hook in after unhooking, as grabbing the chicken loop alone didn't release the power and had to let it go to 5th...

i may have not rigged it up right, as there is lots of customization options for rigging...
