Just a thank you to the NSW committee and Kiteboarding Australia. I've just received an email response from Transport for NSW to state :

Changes are being made to the lifejacket requirements for kiteboarders in response to concerns raised with Transport for NSW by Kiteboarding Australia.

From 1 October 2016, kiteboarders will need to wear a lifejacket only when more than 400 metres from the shore. This is the same requirement that applied before the new Marine Safety Regulation 2016 was introduced on 1 July 2016.

Awesome I watched that new shark movie last night and seen that fine young lady duck under the crashing waves. She would have been stuffed with a lifejacket.

Yeh but if she had a life jacket she could have removed the CO2 canister, thrown it into the sharks mouth and blown it up with the flare gun
