Hey Folks
I thought I would finally get around to posting a few photos of a recent holiday to Lake Argyle.
I lived up that way for many years and always wanted to one day, attempt to kite the "Lake".
10 years in the making, I finally hooked up with me good mate with a boat, loaded up with camping gear, food, and beers, and headed out
Picked an island after a bit of reccy mish, and had a brilliant 2 days, Kimberley camping at its best.
If you haven't seen this part of the world, I highly recommend it. The scenery is face melting!
btw: ignore the skillz...or lack of.

Only freshies in the lake apparently

Really?

They also detroyed a salty "down river" in Lake Kununurra earlier this year.

At least there are traps in Lake Kununurra. Argyle's too big for traps to be effective.

Cheers for the comments.
To be honest, the kiting part was very difficult.
Wind, yep S/E bout 15 to 18 but huge holes, down to about 3 kn. Launch and land was more risk than reward.
The whole operation impossible without a boat. I would not risk my gear again but hey..I did it!
It was just one of the things on my very small bucket list.
The Lake is 1000 square kms and 90 meters deep in some parts. Classed as an inland sea.
Yeh there would be crocs but we didn't see any.....spose that's what Mick Fanning said too!!
The post was really just to show one of my favorite places in the state. although we were probably crossing into the NT at times.
It is incredible country!!! Check it out before the rest is sold off to overseas.
