Saturday morning saw a pretty big turn out @ Attadale/Burke Drive for probably the first time this season. The spot is one of the few places on the Swan to launch when there's anything with 'east' in it.

Most of the regulars down there will be aware of the long standing "issues" with the local bird watching group & DEC/Dep't of Parks & Wildlife (or whoever they are this week). I noticed one local resident/dog walker/bird watcher going off at a couple who sounded like they were Euro's, & may not be aware of the issues @ Attadale.

As a reminder, & for those who don't already know, there is a 24/7 365 day bird sanctuary to the east/right of the launching area & a 'kite exclusion zone' that extends 100m or so out onto the water. The kite exclusion zone boundary is the fence line that comes almost all the way to the water's edge. The birds in question are the same nesting fairy terns that are "problematic" at Pelican Point & Safety Bay.

A considerable amount of work has been done in previous years to keep this spot open for kiters. For those using it, please try, as best is possible to stay clear of the bird nesting/sanctuary area when kiting; and if you happen to see anyone kiting to the east of the fence line, please point out this info.

Yes, I know there's no signage, but that's another story.
