I'll play. Picked up a few things and was bid up on a few items but was still within what I was willing to pay given the condition. So the good (well good in my opinion):
- Duotone Pro Voke CSC 5'3" board $390 - a lot of sooty fingermarks and general dirtyness but most seem to clean off well enough, although probably will still be left with a bit of staining in the fibreglass from the smoke. No damage to it anywhere.
- Duotone Fin set to go with the board $30
- Switchblade 10m (2019) - $1040 - more than I really wanted to pay, but was planning on buying new to replace my flogged out 2010 10m so a handily timed discount. Kite bag shows no sign of any dirty water getting near it and all the plastic wrapping looks intact with no sign of any heat being near it.
- Cabrinha CAS depower spare $10 (as the one on my 2018 12m Switchblade needs to be replaced so another good times deal.
- Cabrinha Fireball spreader bar $38 - was just listed as "FI" brand in the auction lot but visible in the picture. Turned out to be 2nd hand and came bundled with windsurfing NPX spreader and Prolimit spreader bars that I'll probably end up dumping.


What I didn't do so well on and I'm ashamed to put in the pic is the almost $300 I gambled on the set of control bars and lines (Cabrinha Overdrive/Slingshot) where the Cab bar was a lot more used than I thought. Only marginally cheaper than the ones I was looking at on Gumtree but definitely not a bargain. Slingy bar looks to be from about 2011/2012 era so might post that up free to a good home if anyone wants it as not worth selling to recoup the bundle cost as planned.

Most of the kiting gear there seemed in ok condition overall and looked to have escaped far better than some of the windsurfing boards and bags had. Even some of the foils looks a bit dodgy, but that seemed more from mishandling than actual fire damage. Kites there were a mix of new and 2nd hand and all looked in reasonable condition. Some of the 2nd hand 9 and 10m kites were probably the best bargains.

God i hate you. Ive drawn and recreated these things in every piece of design software ive ever used. From autocad to 3dsmax while i have models next to my computer. Bastard god damnit a friends dad owned volvo in a small country and had a c2 which i got to drive while high as a kite and honestly it did nothing for me something about the c3s

Don't hate too much. Having to fix it continually breaking is the reason until now I've only updated one kite in the last 9 years.

On a note related to the auction, it looks like the acidic smoke/soot did stain the fibreglass on the board slightly more than I thought. Probably would have been good if it was washed down after the fire, but 6 months surface contact has worked in a little. The kite looks great though as was protected from the smoke by the outer kite bag as well as the plastic wrapping it was still in inside it.

To clean your board buy a legitimate brand name magic sponge. (Squishy white square things) theyre pretty amazing for cleaning glass boards

I feel happier now that i see the board doesnt fit in the car :D
