Struggling to find any definite info on kitefoiling in Sanur. Is the area deep enough for foiling and what would be the most suitable sized kite for the average conditions ? I'm 85kgs Thanks

Yes, you can foil no problem in Sanur. I did a few sessions around 4 or 5 years ago. Just don't head out toward the reef, especially at low tide. Plenty deep enough closer in shore.

when there is wind in Sanur, you'll get somwehere between 8 and 15 knots SE winds (almost on-shore) most of the time. Sometimes 15-20 knots from June to August.

As you know, the difference between 8 and 15 knots is huge especially in terms of foiling.

Everyone who foils has different power needs, riding style / discipline, skill level, wing sizes, etc. Personally I'd be happy with an 8m and 12m to cover that wind range.

Agree with cbulota. maybe more if on tt you might need more depending on weight. Darwin mob has foiled there a fair bit . on higher tides you can mostly get about the lagoon and also the reefs. from baby reef to Hyatt and out to oka is fun. Always feels like you are going to hit reef due to clear water but can be surprisingly deep

I miscalculated tide last time I was there on foil having too much fun. but could body drag back to Putu's no problem. Just took about 20 minutes though. cheers.
