Spoke to rider in store today, Was a timely reminder about how quickly things can get out of hand in challenging conditions even for very, very accomplished riders.
I'm sure he can jump on and give his side but his biggest takeaway was kiting solo, he had no one with him to assist help or raise the alarm. He was lucky and very thankful that a member of the public saw him in a bit of strife, and alerted the water police, who collected him from a Buoy.
