I currently attach the kite leash to my wrist / one foward line of my SLE kite. This means it gets tangled if the kite loops and I spin the bar back round.

What are people using / doing to overcome this problem?

(I saw some pics of a Naish integrated leash / loop / chicken release combo. Is anyone using that? What's it like?)

Thanks in advance!

Attach it to your harness. If you have a naish kite, you get a little velcro with pipe loop thing that attaches to your spreader bar, and you attach your safety leash to that. At least its not attached to your wrist then (that must be really annoying, especially when you come off your board.)

That handle pass set up is good if you are a competent kiter, it means the leash is out of your way, and the kite depowers fully. Though, if you get into trouble, you can't flag the kite to one line.

I suggest do not attach the leash to your wrist. If the kite doesnt release properly to the "flag" you can get dragged by the wrist. To get the wrist strap off while being dragged is nearly impossible.

some kites use a spinning leash or 5th line through the bar. see your instructor or dealer.
